If you have a child, and you own a car there are a few things that will make life easier for you and things safer for them whenever you need to get someplace in the car, so let’s take a look at a few of them right now.

A car seat

If your child is an infant or under the age of 12 or shorter than 4ft 5, it is a really good idea, and in some places a legal requirement, to strap them into a car seat or booster seat, depending on age, so that, should you be in an accident, they will have the maximum level of protection against the impact. Children who are not safely strapped in will have a far higher chance of being seriously or even fatally injured and it really is not worth the risk.

It is also important to ensure that your car seat or booster is correctly installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

A Backseat organizer

If you’re sick and tired of the back of your car where the kids sit looking like a bombsite, invest in a simple backseat organizer so there is a place for everything, and encourage the kids to use it. No more hunting for lost glasses or cleaning up spilled snacks for you!

Window tinting film

You could be forgiven for thinking that window tint is a purely cosmetic addition to the car or that it is used for privacy reasons only, but you’d be wrong. If you have kids who spend a lot of time in the car, they will be exposed to the light of the sun beating down on them through the window. Unfortunately, the average car window is not able to filter out all of the sun’s UVA and UVB rays, but if you apply window tinting film, you can block more of it out and protect your kids in the process. Applying tinting film will also extend the life of your car windows and the interior of the vehicle too.

A power converter

If your kids find car trips boring, you will undoubtedly have experienced the bickering or complaining that results. Not only can this be annoying but if it distracts you from your driving duties, it could be dangerous too. Something that can really help is the humble power converter. It will turn any plug into a car plug, which means your kids can plug in their devices and be entertained on long journeys. It will also be useful for charging up phones or laptops in an emergency too.

A fist aid kit

It’s always a good idea to have a first aid kit in your car whether you are traveling with the kids or not. That way, should you get into an unexpected accident, you will have some supplies available to patch you up until help arrives.

If you have all of these things, your kids will be safer and happier in the car, and so will you. So what are you waiting for?
