My daughter is 6 years old, and not only does she love Play-Doh, she is also an avid My Little Pony lover. Now this isn’t the My Little Pony you may have grown up with, but it is one reboot that they have done right by! Well I got this Play-Doh Rainbow Dash toy to test with my daughter, and to give you my thoughts.
First of all, it is inexpensive, a perfect fun toy for birthdays or any holiday. It is easy to use and will provide hours of fun. I do recommend getting extra modeling compound, because you want to keep the fun going! It does come with 6 mini tubs in a rainbow of colors, and that is enough to get started. You lift up her forelock and can press in compound, in any color you want, and then push it down. It will come from the top of her head and you just keep adding compound to make her mane longer. My daughter had so much fun coming up with color combinations, as well as hand mixing colors and extruding it that way.
Rainbow Dash’s body is covered with molds. While my daughter wasn’t that interested in them, mainly because of the difficulty she was having taking them out in one piece. Her wings and tail are easily fillable with Play-Doh to get the rainbows that Rainbow Dash is named for.
After your child is done with the toy, there is a switch on the top of Rainbow Dash’s head that makes it VERY easy to clean out any leftover compound. Nothing like cleaning it before the Play-Doh hardens to a rock. All in all, this is a great gift for anyone who has a love of both Play-Doh and My Little Pony, and it even works with homemade dough! Just make sure you clean it out after each use to prevent any drying.
