Hello, I’d like to introduce you to The Mommy Island, my blog. My name is Becky, I’m 30 years old, and married to my guitar playing husband. I’m a stay at home Mommy of a 2 year old, and the writer of The Mommy Island. I started this blog since a friend and I had been discussing what it would be like to be a blogger, and I thought to myself, I could do that. I began thinking about life as a Mommy, and I came up with the name The Mommy Island. There is a saying, “No man is an Island”, but I thought to myself what if you are a Mom? I sometimes felt so unconnected with the outside world. Do you ever just need an adult conversation? I found myself saying, ” I need to go potty” to my husband, who would laugh.
I realized when starting my blog, my theme took a bit of a twist. My title no longer holds the same meaning that it did in the beginning, at least not for me. I no longer feel alone or isolated. The Mommy Island now stands as a place I go to unwind, relax, and enjoy myself. I open the book of my life to share with all my readers. My life sometimes feels all over the place, so my topics are shared in the order of my life. All over the place. Motherhood, scrapbooking, couponing, reviews and giveaways are just a few of my favorite things to post for my readers. I love the interaction I have with my readers, not only on my blog, but on the social media sites. It helps having a connection with people who not only understand where you are coming from, but can encourage you to go in the direction of your dreams.
