We were sent a free Kobo Touch for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own.
I have been testing out the Kobo Touch and I am pretty impressed. This ereader is touch screen and very responsive. It’s extremely lightweight and fits nicely in the palm of your hand. Great to take with you when traveling because it does not take up much space.
The back has a diamond ribbed unique design that is unlike any others I have seen before making it very flattering and appealing to the eye.
When you first turn it on, you are greeted with a lovely welcome message from Kobo. This is where you will start your initial set up. The thing I love about this is that you can either do it wireless through wifi or connect to your computer. I chose to do the wireless setup which is pretty quick and easy. If I had to guesstimate, I would say less than five minutes.
Everything is in black in white just like you are reading a regular paperback book. This is great in my opinion because even though it’s an electronic, it’s still nice to have the illusion you have a physical paperback book but can change what you are reading within seconds. You can expand your library without having piles and piles of books in your home and makes an awesome gift for the book lover in your family.
A cool feature of the Kobo is the ability to share what books you have read and added to your library with facebook friends directly from your ereader. You can also earn reading awards and share on facebook too.
Kobo has over 3 million titles that you can add to your library so you don’t have to worry about never having something new to read. They also have lots of free titles for you to choose from as well. You won’t have to worry about not having enough space to hold all your books because the Kobo Touch comes equipped with 2GB of internal memory that can be extended up to 32GB with a micro SD card. The battery life is very good on the Kobo Touch even without charging it outside of the box. I was able to get a few hours of battery life without charging it the first time.
If you are worried about the font size on the Kobo Touch, that can be easily taken care of. You not only can adjust the size of the font but the style can be changed to fit your personality too. All around, the Kobo Touch is an amazing ereader. The only thing you would need is a light when reading at night. Other than that, the Kobo Touch is such a great ereader that’s good no matter your age.
