What if there were an easier way to make sure lights are turned on and off in your home? Having a family of five with three younger children, there is always someone forgetting to turn the lights off. Thankfully, there’s a solution to this problem! Lutron Maestro® occupancy/vacancy sensing switch is here to help you save energy by automatically turning lights on and off in any room. We were given a chance to review this wonderful product and I’m completely in love with our new edition.
As you can see, our light switch was pretty sad looking before we installed the Lutron sensing switch. It was basic and completely unfinished making our wall look horrible. Now that we have upgraded, our lives have become a whole lot easier when entering and leaving our front room. The Lutron Maestro® occupancy/vacancy sensing switch can be programmed to several different settings and automatically turns lights on and off when you enter or leave the room. You can set it so you’re in full control of turning your lights on and off. The lights will also turn off when there is no motion sensed for a period of time.
Features also Include:
- Patented Ambient Light Detect senses daylight—only turns lights on when there is not enough natural light present
- Works with incandescents, halogens, dimmable compact fluorescents (CFLs) and dimmable
- Proprietary Advanced XCT™ sensing technology detects fine motions to ensure lights stay on when rooms are occupied and allows for sensitivity level to be adjusted
- Reliable on/off sensing performance up to 30 feet
- Can function in two modes:
- Occupancy mode: automatically turns lights on when entering a room, keeps them on while someone is present, and turns them off after they leave
- Vacancy mode: manually turn lights on when entering a room and the sensor
I can’t even begin to express how much this product is helping us save energy in the long run. There’s no more worrying about the kids not turning the lights off and our wall looks more attractive to look at. Being able to dim the lights, turn them on and off, and have an automatic sensor is giving hubby and I peace of mind.
The Lutron Maestro® occupancy/vacancy sensing switch is perfect for hallways, kids rooms, bathrooms, garages, and any other rooms where lights are accidentally left on. They come in a variety of colors to match with just about any and every home decor. Sensors come in two sizes for small ($29) and large rooms ($41.50) plus installation is fast and easy. If you’re looking to save money when it comes to lighting, the Lutron Maestro® occupancy/vacancy sensing switch is the way to go. It can give you the luxury of automation and the benefits of energy savings for less than $30.
