So you’ve thought about it and decided on the warmer option to have a summer wedding. Nice choice! But you must already be aware that summer weddings are by far the most popular type of wedding dresses, and for good reason. There will be plenty of couples vying to have their wedding be the best of the summer, so wouldn’t it be nice if yours was just a little more perfect? So remember: the first thing to move you towards a perfect day is to find a perfect venue.
Obviously the venue is chosen with three things in mind: where the ceremony will be held, and where the reception and accommodation is going to be. Clearly the most convenient venue then would be a location that offers all of these in the same place. Take Birtsmorton Court for example. Birtsmorton is a medieval moated wedding venue in Worcestershire that offers services that fit both church and civil ceremonies, caters your guests with a bar and wedding breakfast and has room for guests to stay, all within a very short walk of each other. In terms of specific requirements for a summer wedding, there are multiple gardens with fountains and a beautiful kissing bridge for photographs. There are even swans that live on the moat that will add a touch of majesty to the whole event. A venue along the same lines as this will definitely make it easier to concentrate on the entertainment and ceremony side of your wedding planning.
On that topic, the reception is probably the most memorable part of a wedding after the ceremony. Because of this, you want it to fit you, your theme and your guests as well as it can. In a summer wedding especially, being out in the open air is amazing, but obviously the weather will sometimes try its best to rain on your carefully laid plans. You need to be prepared for this possibility, and so does your venue. Make sure that wherever you want to get married has options in place for if the weather turns foul, and does not have a history of cancelling because of bad weather. Bear in mind too that the opposite end of the spectrum can also be a problem, and overheating guests as the day goes on is not a good way to make the day memorable. Birtsmorton Court, to follow up on our previous example, has a selection of both indoor and outdoor settings, including a garden of white roses and wisteria and a great hall. You need a variety of finishing touches for both inside and outside, too, and Birtsmorton Court has a built-in fireworks package for the perfect way to finish your evening and areas for dancing that are available no matter the weather.
You will want to be somewhere that can help you arrange the entertainment you want, rather than going somewhere that only offers a select range of entertainment options. A live band, DJ or ceilidh are all good things to consider, or maybe all three if you are particularly well organised. The worst thing you can do though is to waste the sunshine if you have it available and force your guests to stay inside for all of the entertainment. Make the most of the gardens and unique landmarks of your venue for more than just photographs and give your guests, and yourself, a place to remember.
Just be sure that your venue is one you want, and don’t be afraid to insist on something that will make everything perfect.
