Disclosure: We were sent a LeapTV and complimentary games free of charge for our participation with MomSelect & MommyParties. Thanks for the hours of fun and all opinions are my own.
It’s party time with the new LeapTV! LeapTV was recently released this fall and is a game console made by LeapFrog for children aged 3-8. It offers them fun interactive games that will also keep them learning at the same time. Learn math, spelling, phonics, and so much more, all while having a blast for hours! We were sent LeapTV Sports and Dance & Learn in our party kit and man, did those little ones have a ball.
Setting up the LeapTV console was extremely easy and took less than fifteen minutes to get everything going. I usually require the help of my husband to set up items like this but since he wasn’t home and the kids couldn’t wait to play, I had no problem doing this myself. The directions were very easy to read and I was surprised that it took little to no effort for me to connect it. Everything you need to play (minus two AA batteries for the controller) is included in the box so there is no need to buy extra items for set up.
What’s included in the box?
- LeapTV Console
- Console Stand
- Motion-Sensing Camera
- Transforming Controller with wrist strap
- HDMI Cable
- AC Power Adapter
- Camera Mount
LeapTV does require you to have an internet connection to set up and register but I love that it connects to WiFi in no time flat (no need to plug into your computer, yay!). Since I love LeapFrog, I have quite a few products so all I had to do was log into my account and it automatically finished setting up the device. Nice!!
Now that we had our LeapTV set up, the kids were ready to dive in and have some fun!! The LeapTV comes preloaded with some activities so the kids took their time looking around. They were able to take turns customizing different pet friends, decorating their spaces, playing games, and earning new badges. After playing around with this a bit, it was time to pop in one of our added games, LeapTV sports! It has 9 games on this one that includes rope climbing, skateboarding, and baseball so the kids never got bored. I love that even though they were playing and having fun, they still are learning addition and subtraction among other things. The motion sensing camera is very responsive and we never experienced any freezing or lagging in the game system.
Dance & Learn is just as much fun as all the other games and I even got a few dance moves in. I couldn’t help it! Overall, I will say that our LeapTV party was a huge hit plus a great way to keep the kids bodies and brains active. We loved that it was not just a one player game and that more than two people could play together at the same time. LeapFrog, you did an amazing job on the LeapTV system and keeping everyone entertained for hours. The kids didn’t even want to get off to let it rest so i’d say it was a major success!!
If you’ve been on the fence about getting a LeapTV this holiday, I highly recommend purchasing it for your little one. You won’t be disappointed.
