Did you know that 1 in 4 woman will be affected by domestic violence in their lifetime? The rate is high and very scary. No one wants to be abused and you shouldn’t have to. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and there is a chance for us all to do our part to help put a stop to this. The Allstate Foundation has put together a Purple Purse campaign to help raise awareness as well as make a difference. The Purple Purse Campaign is in it’s third year and The Allstate Foundation has pledged to donate up to $350,000 to the YMCA for programs to help assist survivors of domestic violence and other women in need.
Helping these women of domestic violence can begin with you and I and spread like wildfire. How? By passing the purple purse either virtually or physically. To pass the purse virtually, just click the image above, enter the virtual purse code, and submit your zip. That’s it! The Allstate Foundation will donate $5 (up to $350,000) to YMCA for every purse that is passed. This is such an amazing thing that they are doing to help our battered women.
In addition to passing a purse virtually, there are over 1,000 physical purses being passed. If you have a chance to receive a purple purse, please keep the chain going. Inside you will find a card with instructions on how to register your purse. Once registered, pass it on to a family member, co worker, or anyone you may know. Let’s continue to education ourselves and others who may not be fully aware. Together we can continue to give hope and make a difference in these women’s lives!
Check out The Purple Purse on Facebook for more information.

When I painted my nails purple I think it was subconscious. I was one abused and no one deserves to go through that.

Its so nice seeing companies support such a important cause like this. People sometimes forget about Domestic Violence so many women suffer behind close doors..
