Topshop’s Unique collection has been on the fashion radar for some time as the unveiling show for the collection was way back in February. As usual, the high street giant has played around with textures, colors and shapes to create an exciting and youthful collection. A noticeable nineties reference permeated through the collection with a slightly grunge edge. Summer’s cropped tops were also on show in mohair and thicker, winter materials for the braver fashionista. The show, which was housed in London’s iconic Tate Modern, featured an array of colors from traditional black, dark reds, navy and browns to the not so wintry bubblegum pink and light blue. Expect long coats, cowboy boots, patent skirts and fur stoles.

H & M

The beautiful Gisele Bundchen is said to be the main star of the H&M autumn and winter campaign. She was spotted shooting for the collection in May in plush South Kensington wearing skinny black jeans, a furry cream jumper and high heeled boots. The brand’s upcoming collection is undeniably demure and classic with black and cream being the two dominant colors throughout the collection. Over the knee leather black boots accompanied many looks and mohair and velvet garments featured heavily in the line. The majority of garments were kept clean and simple, focusing on shape and texture rather than frills and heavy embellishments.

Men’s fashion has captured equal amounts of intrigue and excitement this year. Zara’s approaching menswear line doesn’t cut any corners in terms of quality, style and sophistication. The line, which is filled with black, grey and tweed tailored suits, thick ties, crisp white shirts and polo-neck jumpers, is a blend of Parisian chic, James Bond and lord of the manor. Many pieces work well for the office and evening wear however; you can also throw a classic trench coat or tweed blazer over a warm jumper for a stylish day look.

Marks and Spencer

This enduring store has become the bread and butter of the British high street. Marks and Spencer is always a safe bet for comfortable, quality garments and staple pieces in your wardrobe. Its new style director, Belinda Earl is using her latest autumn/winter collection to shed M&S’s old fashioned reputation to contend with the major players on the high street. Expect to see vibrant patterns, on-trend colors, animal print and leather in the collection, including a gorgeous cropped burgundy leather jacket. Wear classic clothing with unique jewellery such as a Rachel Boston ring or a great vintage find to add contrast and character to a look.
