I received this product from Skillet Street Food to review here on my blog. Since I knew that bacon makes everything taste great I decided to give it a try. Just looking at it was not the least bit enticing and I was a bit intimidated by it at first. However, it smells just like bacon and is suppose to be good for cooking and serving on burgers or grilled cheese as a substitute for bacon. I used this product to put in my collard greens. I usually use smoked turkey but use bacon when that is not available in my home. Well that was one of those days I had no smoked turkey or bacon and really had a taste for some greens. I thought since I had no bacon and this was a bacon product I would give it a try. This worked out perfectly and my family didn’t notice the difference than if I had used real bacon. So there you have it!! Great product and I would use it again. Their website has a lot of great recipes that I would love to experiment with. There are many ideas for bacon jam I would have never thought of. I would have to agree with you at first glace, it does not look like something I'd eat. This does sound like a great substitute. I love to cook my kale with bacon. Might have try this!
It is not as bad as it looks and some of the recipes on their site are very inspirational. I can't wait to try some of them when I want to add something different to my menu. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
