It’s November 1st and we are officially kicking off our Holiday Gift Guide with a Teach My kit. The holidays will be here before we know it so it’s never too early to start thinking about gift giving. Teach my preschooler is perfect for the little one on your list that is either getting ready for preschool or just needs a little more practice. When I was approached to do a review for this kit I was very enthused. I had been struggling to find something that would actually grasp the kids attention while having fun doing it. With over 200 pieces included, the learning fun is endless. Every lesson is well organized and labeled in it’s own section so it is easy to keep each piece exactly where it goes.

Their are four sections, ready to print, ready to read, ready for 1 to 100, and ready for math. Ready to print comes with a drawing board and transparent flash cards. I love these and how they teach lower case, uppercase, and numbers up to 10. The flash cards are very durable and will last without ripping. The girls enjoy practicing their writing on the drawing board every day.

Ready to read comes with ten books that each teach a different level of reading. There is no set rule to which book you start with so begin where you feel you and your child are comfortable. My children still struggle with some letter sounds so I began there working my way up to sight words and so on. One of the things I love the most about this section is that when you get to a certain level their are little flash cards that are placed in the back of each book. One side has pictures and the other side has the word. I will show my daughter the picture first and see if she can spell it out. Then I will turn it over and spell it with her if she has trouble. I can’t wait until she is reading fluently and with this section I can see her reaching her full potential in no time.

Ready for 1 to 100 is one of my daughter’s favorite. It comes with a poster, foam numbers, train flashcards, and a soft cover book. We really did not get into the book but the poster is really helping her count past her comfort level. She is in first grade but this helps her with counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Her and her sister love putting all the train flash cards in order while using the poster as a reference.

Lastly, ready for math is a section that has helped my child tremendously. It comes with an addition flip book & poster, a subtraction flip book & poster, counters, foam numbers, and equation signs. She even uses the drawing board from the ready to print section to write out her equations. I am well pleased with this kit and recommend it 100%. Especially when my girls come home and this is the first thing they want to do.
