We officially received our first sighting of snow here in New Jersey and the kids are overjoyed. It’s not only beautiful, but it’s fun to play in too. As the weather becomes more brutal and winter ushers in, we never let that stop our play time. The kids enjoy playing outdoors no matter how warm or cold it may be. Since we have a small playground right in front of our apartment complex, it’s easy to keep an eye on them. Making sure they bundle up and have the appropriate gear helps to ensure their playtime is fun but also warm.
I love that my girls like to play outside even when the weather is colder. This keeps them out of my hair for a little while and it also keeps them off their electronics. Their bodies are continually moving so they can burn off energy and I notice they sleep better at night. Our playground has a few great areas for them to play at including swings and a jungle gym. When they get tired of those, there is plenty of space for them to run around and play with their many friends that also live in our complex.
Making sure my girls play outdoors, even in the colder months, is a major priority for me. I enjoyed outdoor play as a kid and am very glad it’s still alive and well with my kids!
