Arby’s Grand Turkey Club

Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons. Every year as I grow older I seem to want to do more and more activities around this time. I am guessing it’s because I have finally become an adult and had kids of my own who love to do things I was not brought up doing. We love to do different crafts together and decorate. Last year was the first time we actually carved a pumpkin together. I liked it so much I can’t wait to do it again this year. Growing up we did not really do much of carving pumpkins or decorating. What I do remember is the holidays being time well spent with family and friends. Every year we would have a huge Thanksgiving dinner and entertaining party with a turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and my favorite, sweet potato pie! How I long for some of my moms famous sweet potato pie this year. I crave the smell and taste I remember so well. I can remember helping my mom blend in all of the ingredients that go into each and every one.

A few nights ago I was able to stop by Arby’s to test out their new Grand Turkey Club. The sliced turkey reminded me of how juicy our turkey used to be at thanksgiving dinner. The meat is served hot, complete with added bacon, lettuce, tomato and topped with a soft bun. I was only able to taste half of my sandwich because of having to share with the kids but enjoyed every bite that I did have. I can say they definitely got it right with this sandwich. Even though I would love some of my moms fresh baked sweet potato pie, Arby’s makes up for it with the craveability of this sandwich. It will be something that I will remember for the rest of my life. I hope they have it every year because this is something I will be looking for next fall. I don’t want to have to say, “Remember when they had this sandwich at Arby’s”? I can add this to carving pumpkins, decorating, and trying to make moms pie. Notice I said try.
